Stick vacuums are popular for those that live in small living spaces. In this Eureka Blaze Stick vacuum cleaner review, I will highlight its features to help you decide if it is the right choice for your small apartment.

We have had the same vacuum for years and we are ready to upgrade to a new model ourselves. I have become fed up with bag vacuum cleaners and want to switch to a canister version.

I also want to save space which is why a stick vacuum makes sense in our small space. Eureka isn’t a brand we’ve ever used before but it appears to have a lot of great features which I’ll get into more below.

Overview of the Eureka Blaze Stick Vacuum Cleaner

What I really like about this Eureka Blaze stick vacuum is the 3-in-1 versatility. It can transform from a stick vacuum into a hand vacuum into a stair vacuum with ease.

That is something we need even in our small apartment, especially for higher reaching places or for quick clean-ups like vacuuming the cat’s litter mat.

I also like the fact that it is a canister vac also referred to as having a dust cup. It is easier to empty the cup and be done versus changing a bag and then disposing of the bag in the dumpster.

The fact that it is a stick vacuum also makes it easy to store away into a closet without taking up any space at all.

This stick vacuum has a range of features. I also like the simplicity of this vacuum. There is no muss or fuss.

3-in-1 Versatility

What’s great about this stick vacuum is that it can convert from a stick vacuum, to a hand vac, and then a stair vac. Even in a small living space, this is helpful.

We vacuum hard to reach places now with our bag vacuum and it is cumbersome to lift up just to use the hose to reach higher areas.

Having the versatility of this vacuum would be a game changer for day-to-day clean ups.

18-ft Power Cord

A versatile vacuum definitely needs a long power cord. I’m glad this one has an 18-ft cord so there is less of a need to unplug it to move from one room to the next.

Our apartment is a one-bedroom but we do have a living room and a kitchen. It is convenient to be able to move from one place to the next without unplugging and plugging in again.

Extra Large Dust Cup

Stick vacuums are not going to have super large dust cups in general but it’s nice that this Eureka Blaze’s dust cup seems large enough to handle a standard vacuuming of a small room.

I prefer canister vacs now that we’ve had our bag vacuum for so many years. It is easier to empty a canister and continue with your cleaning.

Pros and Cons of the Eureka Blaze Stick Vacuum Cleaner

So far the features of this stick vacuum are great. However, it does have both pros and cons to consider before buying.

  • Versatility (stick vac, hand vac, & stair vac)
  • Large dust cup
  • Long power cord (18 ft)
  • 2 amp motor
  • Inexpensive
  • Lightweight

  • Not great for heavy shedding pet
  • May not be as powerful as other vacuums for vacuuming hair
  • Suction power not very strong

Other Considerations

The biggest complaint among user reviews on Amazon is that the vacuum isn’t the best at vacuuming pet fur or hair.

There are other Eureka vacuum models that have more power and are still stick vacuums.

Therefore, if you do want more power, you may want to comparison shop before buying.

If you’re specifically looking for a stick vacuum, I think this Eureka Blaze is sufficient and can get the job done.

Don’t expect it to be a heavy-duty vacuum. I wouldn’t consider this vacuum to do any deep cleaning. It is the type of vacuum for day-to-day vacuuming and quick cleanups.

This vacuum is inexpensive compared to other stick vacuums. You won’t come out of pocket too much for it.

However, the saying holds true, “you get what you pay for.” For more power, you’ll likely need to shop around for higher-priced vacs.

Dust Cup

If you are not accustomed to canister vacuums or dust cups, you’ll have to get used to emptying them more often versus a bag vacuum.

Dust cups will be a bit messier to empty as dust will fly out upon emptying. They are more convenient but keep that in mind.

Closing Thoughts

Overall, I feel the Eureka Blaze stick vacuum is sufficient for a small space. Whether you have carpet, hardwood floors, or both, it can clean efficiently.

If you have a pet, you may want to consider a stick vacuum with a bit more power. One of the bigger complaints is that it cannot suck pet fur or hair well.

As far as affordability goes, you can’t beat the price on this vacuum. Its versatility is great too.

I like the fact that it can convert into a hand vac and stair vac with ease. This versatility is helpful even in a small apartment.

This vacuum is definitely a contender among the other stick vacuums that are on the market.

Is it the best of its kind? Not by any means. It is a standard stick vacuum with some great features and an affordable price.
